A Message From The Principal
Firstly, can I wish everybody a happy new year and give a warm welcome back to all our staff and students. I hope you had a restful holiday and are ready for the fast paced term ahead. It really is an incredibly busy term with Year 8 considering their GCSE option choices and Year 11 sitting their mock examinations. It is not all work though as demonstrated by our Year 7 and 8 pantomime experience this week and upcoming ski trip over February half term.
With work on our new heating system and windows almost complete, our buildings improvement plan continues with the renovation of the ground floor corridor in A block. This involves further modernisation of the building with new plaster, paint and even a brand new floor. Coupled with our work on the Literacy for Life corridor and in Science last year, A block is now a really positive learning environment for our students.
We are lucky to have Mr Carpenter, Outstanding practitioner for Mathematics with us this term. Mr Carpenter is part of our trusts central team and will be working closely with the maths team to develop high quality provision. Alongside the trusts maths coach, Ms Bagley, he will also be providing intervention to groups of students who need additional support.
We have also successfully recruited Ms Taylor and Ms Rogers to our teaching team who will be providing support in lessons and covering any absence. Mr Hamblett also joins us as our new Behaviour Manager supporting the young people within our VDE system. May I take this opportunity to welcome them to the Pegasus team.
