Upgrade Mission Extended School Day

Mr Landers, Principal:  I am pleased to announce that the Trust is set to extend the Academy day for all Year 11 learners. This will be known as our Upgrade Mission. The Upgrade Mission is an initiative that has been designed to support all of our Year 11 learners and prepare them for their forthcoming GCSE exams.

From the week commencing 12th November 2018, the Academy day will be extended by one period on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 15:00 – 16:00 and will place focus on all subject areas throughout the course of the academic year.

In order to ensure that all our Year 11 students achieve the best possible results in their exams, it is expected that all Year 11 students attend the Upgrade Mission sessions. An Upgrade Mission assembly took place this week to ensure all learners were notified of the importance of these sessions.

Phase two of the extended Academy day will be implemented in the New Year. This will include extending the day further on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday by an additional 45 minutes to further support our Year 11 learners. Phase two will also be supported by Century Tech. The Trust has invested in Century Tech, which is an artificial intelligence platform aimed at accelerating learners’ progress in English, Mathematics and Science. Additional details on this will be sent out in due course.

This Year 11 programme demonstrates the Trust’s commitment to providing the best support possible for Year 11 learners so that they can thrive in their summer examinations and move on to positive post-16 destinations.

Should you have any queries or concerns related to the Upgrade Mission, please contact Mrs Lee, Vice Principal.

Letters and individual timetables have been posted home and students have been given a copy of their timetable.  The subjects are chosen according to their current grades and will be reviewed every 6 weeks. Students are required to report to the relevant subject areas at the end of the Academy day.

Thank you for your continued support this academic year.
